Local Youth Support agency is Stunned at receiving an award at the inaugural Federation of Small Businesses Awards.
The Education Training Partnership has been recognised as a leader in its field by the Federation of Small Business for the work it carries out supporting to young people of Bolton at the inaugural Greater Manchester and Cheshire Business Awards that was held at the Manchester Hilton Hotel on the 9th of November. The company was shortlisted for the awards in October and at the event the company discovered that it had won the award beating hundreds of entries from applicants from all over the North West of England.
Simon Foster, Managing Director who formed the company in 2007 said:
This award is the culmination of my teams’ hard work, determination and dedication in supporting the young people of Bolton. My team have managed to get 162 young people off benefits and into long term employment since the beginning of 2016 and I am over the moon that this work has been recognised by my peers within the business community.
I started the company to support children who were struggling in school as I left school with no qualifications and I have worked my way up from washing pots in a restaurant kitchen to the Managing Director of an Award-Winning Business, a School Governor of a large secondary school and an Employer of an award-winning team. It just goes to show that anything is possible with a lot of hard work, dedication and a great deal of determination.
I would also like to mention Manchester Metropolitan University who accepted me onto the Goldman Sachs Funded 10KSB course in late 2013. The tutors trained me in Business Growth and the importance of a diverse range of income streams when running a successful company and how to grow a successful business. I would like to thank Jonathan Lawson who was the course coordinator from Goldman Sachs as without his belief and encouragement we would not be in receipt of this award.
Since completing the course we have had to relocate the business twice due to business growth and we now occupy a stunning Training and Support centre on Bradshawgate in the centre of Bolton and we will be shortly opening a satellite centre in Trafford as we have been asked to deliver our services in a second Local Authority. We are half way through our 5-year growth plan and we are currently looking at becoming a recognised Apprentice and Traineeship Provider to assist with the growth of the business and to ensure the company can help the current Governments target to hit the 3 million Apprenticeships.
